Striking decrease in multi-class resistance

Prakash Sista and colleagues at Virco recently published a report in the Journal of Clinical Virology on the prevalence of calculated phenotypic resistance in the >240,000 samples submitted to Virco for routine clinical testing between 1998 and June of 2007. They report a striking decrease in multi-class resistance among samples with reduced susceptibility (RS) to any drug and a marked decrease over time in the relative prevalence of resistance to any NRTI compared to NNRTI or PI.
