Virco ® TYPE HIV-1 is an HIV-1 resistance analysis system that combines Genotype, Phenotype and Additional Clinical Information, all in one easy-to-use report.

Virco®TYPE HIV-1 is the first HIV-1 resistance test report that applies two consistently derived Clinical Cut-Off values for better treatment selection.

  • Genotype: A virco®TYPE HIV-1 report lists all resistance-associated mutations reported on public lists or by drug development sponsors that are identified in the protease and reverse transcriptase genes of the sample virus, and classifies these mutations per drug class
  • Phenotype: virco®TYPE HIV-1 provides an accurate prediction of the phenotype (fold change in IC-50) from a viral genotype, using the Virtual Phenotype™ - LM bioinformatics engine. For more information on how VirtualPhenotype™ - LM works, please click here.
  • Additional Clinical Notes: the virco®TYPE HIV-1 report provides additional clinical information when appropriate to complete the resistance analysis. Click here for more details about additional clinical information.
  • Clinical Cut-offs: Clinical Cut-Offs are reference values, based on observations of virologic response (change in viral load) in treated patients, that give an indication of the level of response that can be expected for each drug, and how that response is affected by viral resistance. Click here for more information about Clinical Cut-Offs.
